Job summary

The PAC Group in the San Francisco Bay Area is seeking an Automotive Audio Systems Engineer to lead the development, integration, and validation of in-vehicle audio systems, delivering premium sound from concept through production launch, covering speaker selection, acoustic tuning, and vehicle-level integration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Acoustical Engineering, or related field.
• Hands-on experience developing, integrating, testing, and validating automotive audio systems.
• Knowledge of speakers, amplifiers, microphones, acoustics, and audio processing.
• Experience with acoustic measurement and tuning tools (Klippel, Audio Precision, SoundCheck, or similar).
• Understanding of vehicle electrical/electronic systems and audio architectures.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; fluent English.

• Conduct acoustic measurement, tuning, testing, and validation, including frequency response, distortion, and sound quality.

Role Purpose

This role will focus on delivering premium sound performance from concept through production launch, working across speaker selection, acoustic tuning, and vehicle-level system integration.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Acoustical Engineering, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience developing, integrating, testing, and validating automotive audio systems.
• Strong knowledge of speakers, amplifiers, microphones, acoustics, and audio signal processing.
• Experience with acoustic measurement and tuning tools (Klippel, Audio Precision, SoundCheck, or similar).
• Understanding of vehicle electrical/electronic systems and audio architectures.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; fluent English.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with premium automotive audio systems and vehicle-level acoustic tuning.
• Knowledge of DSP, EQ, filtering, and digital audio processing.
• Proficiency with MATLAB, Python, Audio Weaver, miniDSP, or COMSOL.
• Experience conducting subjective and objective sound-quality evaluations at the vehicle level.
• Background at an OEM or Tier 1 automotive supplier.
