Job summary

Withum is seeking an accounting supervisor for its Dealerships team with locations in the U.S. including East Brunswick, NJ.

The role focuses on supervising engagements, reviewing dealership financial statements, and mentoring staff while collaborating with tax, assurance and advisory groups to service clients in the auto and equipment dealership sector. The ideal candidate has a CPA or CPA-track background, 5+ years at a CPA firm, and strong analytical and client-service skills.

Qualifications

• CPA designation or in process of obtaining CPA
• Strong accounting expertise with knowledge of dealership operations and industry regulations
• Experience in a CPA firm (minimum 5 years)
• Excellent analytical, organizational, project management and technical skills
• Exceptional client service and communication skills with ability to develop and maintain client relationships
• Ability to manage multiple engagements in a fast-paced, team environment

Responsibilities

• Collaborating on client engagements, including compilation, review and audits of dealership financial statements and other projects
• Providing supervision, training and support to staff and communicating with engagement partners and managers
• Inspiring and mentoring staff and providing challenging assignments
• Collaborating cross-functionally with tax, assurance, accounting and advisory groups to fully service clients
• Growing skills while evaluating impacts of financial reporting standards and tax regulations on clients' business

Withum's Dealerships team is seeking an accounting supervisor to join our team in any of the following office locations; Braintree, MA; East Brunswick, NJ; Philadelphia, PA; or Orlando, FL. The Dealerships group provides tax, assurance and advisory services to vehicle/ heavy truck/equipment /recreational vehicle/etc. dealerships across the country. How You'll Spend Your Time:

• Collaborating on client engagements, which will include compilation, review and audits of dealership financial statements, as well as other special projects.
• Providing supervision, training and support to the engagement staff and promoting open communication to the engagement partner and manager
• Inspiring, developing, mentoring, and retaining staff while providing challenging assignments
• Collaborating cross-functionally with our tax, assurance and accounting, and advisory groups to identify opportunities to fully service the client and their families
• Growing your skills while evaluating the potential impact of financial reporting standards and tax regulations on clients' business and financial position

The Kind of People We Want to Talk to Have Many of The Following:

• Bachelor of Science degree in accounting or a business-related field of study
• CPA designation or being in the process of achieving your designation
• The ideal candidate will be able to combine strong accounting expertise with knowledge of dealership operations and industry-specific regulations
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a CPA firm
• Strong tax background along with a curiosity and willingness to stay current on all key tax law changes
• Excellent analytical, organizational, project management, and technical skills
• Exceptional client service and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships
• Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing projects in a rapidly growing, fast-paced, interactive, results-based team environment
• Strong learning and comprehension skills, coupled with excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills to represent the Firm well to client's management

The compensation for this position ranges from $100,000-$125,000 annually. In addition to the base compensation, Withum offers a competitive benefits package and bonus program (for eligible roles) based on individual and firm performance. Final offer amounts are based on multiple factors such as the specific role, hiring location, as well as the individual's skills, experience and qualifications.
