Job summary

Strama-MPS U.S. Inc. is seeking an experienced Automotive Account Manager to own strategic customer accounts across North America.

You will develop relationships with OEMs and Tier suppliers, drive account growth and lead commercial activities through the opportunity, proposal and order process. You will collaborate with BD Managers, Sales Engineers, PM, Marketing and global experts to deliver customer opportunities, support proposals and drive orders.

Qualifications

  • Several years of experience in account management or strategic sales within automotive manufacturing.
  • Proven ability to grow strategic accounts and build trusted relationships.
  • Strong understanding of OEM and Tier supplier structures and investment processes.

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of existing strategic customer accounts and qualified opportunities across North America.
  • Develop and maintain long-term relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders within automotive OEMs and Tier suppliers.
  • Create customer intimacy through regular engagement, strategic account planning and a deep understanding of customer priorities and business objectives.
  • Develop and execute account growth strategies focused on generating repeat business and expanding Strama-MPS's footprint within existing accounts.
  • Identify follow-on opportunities, future investment programs and additional growth potential within assigned customers.
  • Lead commercial activities throughout the opportunity, proposal and order acquisition process.
  • Collaborate closely with Business Development Managers, Sales Engineers, Project Management, Marketing and global experts to develop customer opportunities, support proposal activities and drive successful order acquisition.
  • Drive proposal positioning, customer communication, commercial discussions and negotiations.
  • Maintain accurate customer, opportunity and forecast data in Microsoft-based CRM and business systems.
  • Prepare account plans, opportunity reviews, sales forecasts and management reports.
  • Represent Strama-MPS at customer meetings, trade shows, conferences and industry events

The Following Responsibilities Will Be Part of Your Role:

Your Skills!
  • Several years of successful experience in account management, strategic sales or customer development within automotive manufacturing
  • Proven ability to build trusted customer relationships and grow strategic accounts over time
  • Strong understanding of automotive OEM and Tier supplier organizations, investment processes and decision-making structures
  • Experience in special-purpose machinery, industrial automation, production systems or manufacturing equipment
  • Strong commercial mindset with the ability to successfully manage opportunities through the sales and negotiation process
  • Excellent relationship-building, communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to establish strong customer intimacy and maintain executive-level relationships
  • Strong business acumen combined with a structured and strategic approach to account development
  • High degree of initiative, ownership, accountability and self-motivation
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM and business applications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Industrial Management, Manufacturing or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience will also be considered
  • Willingness to travel approximately 30-50% throughout North America
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
