Job summary

Milo’s Tea Company seeks an Automation Controls Engineer to troubleshoot, update, and support PLC programs and control systems across the maintenance team. You will contribute to the automation projects from technical and business intelligence perspectives, wiring, testing, and commissioning of control hardware.

Ideal candidates have a degree in a related field and hands-on PLC/HMI experience with Siemens Step 7 and Rockwell systems, and you will work to keep systems safe, compliant, and

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in an electrical/software technical field is required.
• 3 years of experience in ladder logic, networking, and controls systems.
• Experience in PLC, HMI, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Expert knowledge in electrical schematics, P&ID, tags, and symbols.
• Experience with Siemens Step 7, RSLogix/Studio 5000, and Ladder Logic preferred.
• Some experience in P&IDs, ISA data sheets, instrument installation details, and motor control.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Automation Controls Engineer and Maintenance team on troubleshooting, projects, and modifying existing PLC programs and control systems.
• Ownership supports the development of Milo’s Tea Company automation projects from a technical perspective and through business intelligence and expertise.
• Troubleshoots and can install components of controls systems (4-20mA/0-10V inputs/outputs, sensors, switches); skilled with motor drives and servo motors.
• Reads, troubleshoots, and maintains electrical schematics; edits, downloads, and uploads programs in RS Logix 5000, RS Logix5000, and Studio 5000 to maintain systems.
• Uses Allen-Bradley suites, ME Transfer tool, FactoryTalk Linx, RS Linx Classic, and related platforms; troubleshoots networks from a systems perspective.
• Follow safety policy including lockout-tagout, hot work permit, confined space; contribute to Corporate Responsibility and zero waste initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Summary

Reads, troubleshoots, and maintains electrical schematics. Edits, downloads, and uploads programs in RS Logix 5000, RS Logix500, and Studio 5000 to maintain systems. Use Allen Bradley suites, ME Transfer tool, Factory Talk Linx Network Browser, RS Linx Classic, and other platforms. Has a basic understanding of how networks of systems operate and is able to troubleshoot systems from a networking perspective. Diagnose problems with ladder logic and support maintenance when necessary. Follow safety policy and procedures including, but not limited to, lock out-tag-out, hot work permit, and confined space. Uphold and participate in all Corporate Responsibility programming, including recycling, social advocacy, and MMAD volunteering opportunities. This position has responsibilities essential to Food Safety. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Associate or bachelor’s degree in a related electrical/software technical field is required, and 3 years of experience in ladder logic, networking, and controls systems. Experience in PLC, HMI, and Microsoft Office Suite. Expert knowledge in electrical schematics, piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID), tags, and symbols. Experience with Siemens Step 7, Rockwell RSLogix/Studio 5000, and Ladder Logic is preferred. Some experience in design aspects of P&IDs, instrument ISA data sheets, instrument installation details, low voltage wiring, physical conduit routing and cable tray design, loop diagrams, and wiring diagrams and schematics, including motor control. Ability to work both independently and as part of a larger team.
