Job summary

Boyd Corporation in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer to partner with engineering teams on robotics and vision-based automation. This on-site role focuses on new installations, production support, and continuous improvement across product life cycle and VA/VE projects.

The candidate will troubleshoot converting equipment, develop control logic, and drive Kaizen and capex initiatives, collaborating with suppliers and manufacturing teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of robotics in industrial automation.
• Advanced proficiency with vision systems.
• Strong knowledge of machine vision, robotic integration and automation control systems.
• Ability to lead complex automation projects.
• CAD design experience (2D/3D) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and implement advanced control systems for automated equipment.
• Lead integration and optimization of vision-guided pick-and-place ops.
• Configure vision systems for object detection and alignment.
• Troubleshoot PLC, CNC and vision systems for uptime and performance.
• Support cross-functional teams to validate systems and meet deadlines.
• Develop machine control logic (PLC, HMI, VFDs, motion).
• Lead Capex project development and execution.
