Job summary

Accumold in Ankeny, IA, is seeking a hands-on Automation Technician to build new automation and support existing equipment. Responsibilities include press and custom automation builds, part machining, and maintenance. You will mentor others and provide project updates within a multidisciplinary automation team.

The role requires toolmaking skills, CAD troubleshooting, and the ability to interpret drawings. Occasional travel and overtime may be requested as part of a fast-paced production

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; tool & die degree preferred.
• Experience with machining tools such as mills, lathes, EDM and other tooling.
• Able to read and interpret drawings for part conformity.
• Proficient in CAD for troubleshooting and reference.

Responsibilities

• Proficient in machining and measurement methods.
• Understand drawings and deliver conforming parts.
• Use CAD for troubleshooting and assembly reference.
• Prioritize to meet due dates and support Production as needed.
• Provide updates to Automation team and project groups.
• Troubleshoot mechanical problems and implement solutions.
• Build testing systems for development concepts.
• Work with multi-disciplinary teams to solve problems.
• Mentor and train others on automation techniques.
• Provide accurate cost and time estimates.
• Understand molding processes and mold equipment.
• May train others and work autonomously.
• Overtime may be required to meet work demands.
