Job summary

Accumold in Ankeny, IA, is seeking a hands-on Automation Technician to build and maintain production automation systems. You will replace components, wire panels, troubleshoot robots, and support both production and innovation teams.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, plus a two-year technical degree in automation or related field; experience with PLCs, HMIs, AutoCAD or SolidWorks is preferred; occasional travel and overtime may be required.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required; two-year technical or associate degree in automation, robotics, electronics or related field preferred.
Experience with PLC, HMI, AutoCAD, and SolidWorks is desirable.
Willingness to travel occasionally and overtime may be required.
Training in computer controls for industrial processes is a plus.
Strong documentation and communication skills are expected.

Responsibilities

Replace electrical components such as sensors and motors and wire panels using schematics.
Use hand tools and measurement equipment safely and effectively.
Document changes to software settings in Azure and maintain files.
Maintain organized file structures and manage documents on PCs and network locations.
Navigate robot and AVI software and use source control to troubleshoot root causes.
Support production processes and mentor colleagues on automation techniques.
Complete assigned project tasks and communicate progress to the project leader.
