Job summary

Abbott Laboratories in Lake Forest, IL is seeking a Software Engineer in Test to join Abbott Core Lab Division. This on-site role focuses on automated testing for informatics products in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure quality in server, web, and cloud components.

You will design and automate test scripts, maintain automation tools, and serve as SME for testing practices.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Engineering, CS or related field required; master’s preferred.
• Minimum 4–5 years of related experience depending on degree.
• Moderate data analytics skills and ability to implement data-driven solutions.
• Familiarity with CI/CD processes and Agile methodologies.
• Strong communication, problem-solving and collaboration skills.
• Experience with test methodologies and automation best practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute automated test plans for server, web and cloud informatics products.
• Develop tests across containerized and networked components.
• Script and automate test cases for TDD and continuous testing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define testing criteria.
• Analyze test results and report to developers and stakeholders.
• Provide testing documentation conforming to regulatory and security standards.
• Support input on testing procedures, schedules, and potential issues.
• Perform fault isolation and root cause analysis during system testing.
• Complete testing activities within SDLC for development user stories.
• Create verification/test reports and review with stakeholders.
