Job summary

SMC Ltd. is seeking an Automation Technician to develop, set up, and maintain automation equipment for new projects and existing systems.

This role requires troubleshooting downstream work cells, vision systems, and robotic programs while improving yield and safety. The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years in manufacturing automation, strong PLC, vision, robotics, pneumatics and electronics experience, and be capable of root cause analysis.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years' relevant industry experience (Automation Technician levels I–III considered).
• Experience with PLC programming, vision systems, robotics, pneumatics and electronics.
• Extremely dependable and efficient; able to manage multiple priorities.
• Strong team player and self-motivated.
• Capable of root cause analysis.
• Able to read, write and communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot EOATs, vision systems, printers and related equipment with minimal supervision.
• Analyze manufacturing methods and implement cost-reducing improvements.
• Lead teams in major repairs and perform assigned maintenance tasks.
• Troubleshoot robotic programs and assist with new product development.
• Ensure traceability documentation and safe operation of equipment.
• Maintain housekeeping and comply with SOPs and SWIs.
• Communicate effectively during shift changes and escalations.
