Job summary

Tessy Plastics Corp. is seeking an Automation Technician to join our team in Auburn, NY.

This hands-on role focuses on keeping automation equipment running productively through preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and vision systems. You will work with our automation group and production teams to implement improvements, mentor junior technicians, and support installation and commissioning of new equipment.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED with at least 4 years manufacturing experience.
3-5 years of experience with high speed precision manufacturing equipment and inspection systems, or a college degree in Automation related field.
Ability to read and interpret engineering documents, blueprints, safety rules, SOPs.

Responsibilities

Perform preventive maintenance, changeovers, inspections, and routine troubleshooting to maximize uptime and production efficiency.
Diagnose and repair mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and automation issues, including replacement of sensors, switches, motors, and cylinders.
Set up, align, troubleshoot, and verify operation of EOAT systems, automation cells, and robotic equipment.
Train, mentor, and evaluate lower‑level technicians while supporting their technical development.
Support installation, startup, qualification, and commissioning of new automation equipment.
