Job description

Insight Global is seeking an Automation Specialist with an Electrical Background in the Kermit, Texas area. The role involves performing preventive and corrective maintenance on automation equipment, troubleshooting, installing, configuring, and testing devices, as well as setting up controllers, communication protocols, and devices with minimal assistance.

Responsibilities include:

• Troubleshooting automation equipment
• Installing and configuring devices
• Testing equipment and devices
• Setting up controllers and communication protocols

Minimum qualifications:

• 2-year Instrumentation or Automation Technology degree or equivalent technical experience with a strong safety record or a GED
• Electrical background (120v-480v)
• 3+ years in the oil field
• Intermediate knowledge of well RTU design, programming, and troubleshooting
• Understanding of analog/discrete instrumentation and communication protocols (serial, Ethernet)
• Basic ability to maintain PLC programs (function block, ladder logic, structured text) and HMI interfaces
• Familiarity with industry standards (API, NEC, NFPA, IEEE, ISA)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Windows OS
