Job summary

DHL eCommerce in California, Whittier (LAX) is hiring an Automation Technician to ensure the working condition of all distribution center automated mailing equipment and the safety of its use. You will troubleshoot, maintain, and repair automated mailing equipment, collaborate with vendors and internal teams to reduce downtime, train operators, and support automation projects and manuals.

This role requires a safety‑minded approach, basic MS Office proficiency, and the ability to work with CMMS

Qualifications

• Minimum two year of experience in a similar role in manufacturing or automated distribution facility.
• Intermediate Mechanical (including Hydraulics and Pneumatics), Electrical, and Computer Skills.
• Basic understanding of industrial machines operating principles.
• Experience/Ability to work with CMMS.

Responsibilities

• Setup the use of tools and equipment prior to production for optimum safety levels.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Walk, bend, push, reach and lift up to 50 lbs. (additional weight may be required with assistance).
• Ability to sit and stand for hours at a time.
• Noise level generated from other distribution activity can be somewhat loud at times, but no damaging levels or protective equipment required.
• Temperature in the distribution center can vary greatly from warm to cool.
• Ability to climb and descend stairs, ladders and scaffolds and work at various stages of heights throughout the building.

Hourly rate of $28.83 - $42.00. This compensation range is provided as a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role.
