Job summary

Caos in Andrews, Texas, seeks an Automation Technician II to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial automation and control systems in oil and gas environments, ensuring safe, reliable operations in line with company standards.

You will work with PLCs, instrumentation, field devices, and electrical panels, performing calibrations, wiring, and documentation, with supervision for programming and strong teamwork across electricians and other trades.

Qualifications

• Reading electrical drawings, loop diagrams, P&IDs, and control schematics is required.
• 2–5 years of experience with industrial automation and electrical systems.
• Familiarity with ROC800 and Allen-Bradley PLC systems.
• Experience using testing equipment like multimeters and loop calibrators.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot industrial automation and control systems.
• Install and terminate control wiring for PLC panels, instrumentation, and field devices.
• Install and maintain instrumentation including pressure, temperature, level, and flow transmitters.
• Perform calibration and functional testing of instrumentation and control devices.
• Assist with commissioning of PLC-based control systems and automation equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical and automation system issues using appropriate diagnostic tools and testing equipment.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, loop diagrams, P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and control schematics.
• Install conduit, cable trays, and field wiring for automation and control systems.
• Work with PLC hardware and assist with minor programming adjustments under supervision when required.
• Maintain documentation related to equipment installation, calibration, and troubleshooting activities.
• Coordinate work activities with electricians, technicians, supervisors, and other trades.
• Provide guidance and assistance to Automation Technician I personnel when needed.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and organized condition.
