Job summary

Agropur in Wisconsin is seeking an Automation Technician II to troubleshoot and repair instrumentation and computer-controlled systems across the plant. The role requires electrical and mechanical knowledge, plus PLC and HMI skills to monitor and optimize automated processes.

You will perform calibration, maintenance, and documentation, work with Maximo CMMS, and support safety and quality programs. A technical degree in electrical technology is required, with three years of related experience

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Technical Degree in Electrical Technology or related field required.
• Minimum three (3) years of related experience preferred.
• Experience with reading mechanical drawings and electrical schematics including knowledge of redlining schematics for updates required.
• 4-20mA control loops and motor control centers experience.
• Install and program Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs).

Responsibilities

• Monitor automated systems using computer control.
• Troubleshoot automation systems with PLC programs.
• Monitor and troubleshoot HMI systems and make adjustments.
• Perform checks and calibration of plant floor equipment.
• Perform scheduled maintenance and complete documentation.
• Troubleshoot production problems with operators and managers.
• Maintain and inspect automation equipment and processes.
• Install/test systems and implement PLC program changes as needed.
