Job summary

Altium Packaging in Sparta, Tennessee is seeking an Automation Technician to support the development, diagnostics, and maintenance of automated packing equipment and robotics.

You will read blueprints, work with electrical power, program automation, and install sensors, vision systems, and PLCs as part of a skilled automation team. This role requires a Mechanical/Electrical background and an automation certification.

Qualifications

  • Must understand blueprints for mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Able to work with electrical power from 24V to 480V.
  • Experience with PLC programming and basic sensor configuration.
  • Automation Technician Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Handle and operate machinery and equipment safely.
  • Develop, install and program automation and robotics.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot and repair packing, automation and mold equipment.
  • Develop, install and validate vision systems.
  • Assist with the integration, startup and debugging of plant floor equipment.

Job description

Location Address: 600 Vista Drive, Sparta, Tennessee 38583 Work Shift: 12hr-D Shift (6p-6a) Sparta (United States of America)

The Automation team is responsible for the development, diagnostics, and maintenance of all automated packing equipment and robotics. Automation team maintains safety, improves production efficiencies and product quality.

Essential Functions
  • Handle and operate any machinery, tools or equipment used safely while performing job duties.
  • Must be able to read and understand blueprints Mechanical and Electrical
  • Must be able to work with electrical power from 24v to 480v
  • Must be able to adjust sensors or know how to configure sensors
  • Set up & debug new automation as needed
  • Maintain, troubleshoot and repair various packing, automation and mold equipment
  • Develop, install, and program automation and robotics
  • Develop, install and validate vision systems
  • Assist with the integration, startup and debugging of plant floor equipment
  • Maintain clean work environment
  • Automation Technician Certification
  • 1+ years Mechanical/Electrical background
  • Experience with basic electrical circuits a plus
  • PLC Programming
Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. Employee could be exposed to seasonal weather conditions if required to go outdoors. Proper use of PPE is required at all times.
