Job summary

Altium Packaging in Sparta, Tennessee is hiring a Production Lead to support the Production Supervisor across Injection Molding, Blow Molding, and Reheat Stretch processes. You will drive safety, quality, and GMP adherence while directing line personnel and coordinating shift activities.

You will champion continuous improvement, lead change initiatives, and ensure timely communication of job orders and expectations.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist Production Supervisor by directing and supporting employees in molding operations.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and GMP policies.
• Lead change management and training on new skills or processes.
• Maintain performance and drive continuous improvement to throughput and waste reduction.
• Monitor safety conditions and take corrective action as needed.
• Communicate job orders and specifications clearly to staff.
• Perform machine operation tasks as needed.
• Provide feedback on employee performance.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job description

Location Address: 600 Vista Drive, Sparta, Tennessee 38583 Work Shift: 12hr-C Shift (United States of America)

The Production Lead will help the Production Supervisor by providing direction and support to employees in Injection Molding, Blow Molding, and/or Reheat Stretch team while driving compliance with standard operating procedures and policies, such as Safety, Quality and GMP.

• Act as a Change Agent, using appropriate modes of communication and overseeing change management, such as learning new skills, changes in customer or business needs, or shift changes and overtime.
• Use consistency and integrity in dealings with all employees, policy compliance, company relationships, and company data and performance.
• Drive retention by fostering morale and employee engagement.
• In conjunction with the Production Supervisor, champions a safety culture, ensures a safe work environment, and promotes safe behavior.
  • Helps lead and drive safety culture and improvements to achieve a zero-incident environment.
  • Monitors environment and becomes aware of conditions that may affect employee safety and security; takes corrective action.
• Operates machines as needed
• Communicates to ensure employees learn and comply with specifications, job orders, and company policies.
• Lead improvement initiatives to increase through-put, reduce downtime, and reduce waste.
• Drive value creation by improving current systems and procedures and lead continuous improvement activities.
• Provide feedback to Production Supervisor or Manager concerning employee performance and behavior.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Education/Experience

• High school diploma with associate degree or equivalent preferred.
• 1 to 3 years' experience
• Excellent communication and analytical skills are essential.

Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job site can be loud. Employee could be exposed to seasonal weather conditions if required to go outdoors. Proper use of PPE is required at all times.

Physical Demands

• Ability to perform standing job for 8 to 12 consecutive hours (depending on shift length).
• Remain stationary extended periods of time.
• Move around production floor.
• Move, adjust, and position anywhere from 10 to 45 pounds.
• Identify, recognize and assess documents, machinery and more.
• Must be able to walk, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, reach and grasp for varying periods of time during a consecutive 8- to 12-hour period (depending on shift length).
