Job summary

Altium Packaging in Sparta, Tennessee is seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Technician II to repair and maintain production machinery, blow mold equipment and facility systems on a 12-hour shift (6p-6a). The role emphasizes safety adherence and GMP compliance in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

You will install, adjust and repair blow mold and related equipment, perform mold/tooling changes, inspect hoses, valves and pumps, and carry out preventive maintenance to keep machines

Qualifications

• Requires strong math and computer skills for diagnostics.
• Minimum five years on heavy machinery operation.
• Preferred HS diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Perform mold changes and tooling adjustments.
• Inspect and replace hoses, valves and pumps.

Job description

Location Address: 600 Vista Drive, Sparta, Tennessee 38583 Work Shift: 12hr-D Shift (6p-6a) Sparta (United States of America)

As an advanced Industrial Maintenance Technician II, incumbent applies intensive and diversified knowledge in performing repairs, preventive and corrective maintenance on production machinery, plant blow mold equipment and facility.

Industrial Maintenance Technician II is also responsible for following our company's Good Manufacturing Practices.

In addition to Industrial Maintenance Technician I responsibilities, role will include, but is not limited to the following:

• Ensure compliance with corporate and plant safety standards and with applicable laws and regulations issued by regulatory agencies.
• Install, adjust and repair blow mold, trimmers, palletizer and other related equipment.
• Perform mold, neck tooling changes, pin and other equipment changes.
• Inspect and replace pneumatic and hydraulic hoses.
• Inspect, rebuild and replace valves and pumps
• Perform preventive maintenance on all related equipment.
• Maintain machines in optimal processing condition.
• Weld, fabricate, and repair various machines.
• Troubleshoot, locate root problems and repair blow mold, baggers & support equipment.
• May operate blow mold or injection machines
• Communicate with other departments on a frequent basis.
• Duties may differentiate by plant based on equipment and plant design.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
• Receives instructions on specific job task by Lead Industrial Maintenance Technician or Supervisor.
• Assistance is furnished on unusual problems and work is reviewed for application of sound professional judgment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EXPERIENCE:

• Advanced mathematical skills are required.
• Advanced computer experience.
• Five plus years’ equivalent machine operator experience.

EDUCATION:

• Prefer High School diploma or general education degree (GED).

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

• May require a current OSHA forklift certification.

TRAINING:

• Completion of Altium Industrial Maintenance Technician II training.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts in a production environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Temperatures inside the plant can fluctuate between hot and cold according to seasonal changes. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required in the production department and other designated areas.
