Job summary

Greiner Bio-One Americas seeks an experienced Maintenance/Automation Technician to sustain and improve machine reliability in a high-volume Monroe, NC manufacturing environment.

You will troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and control systems; perform root-cause analyses; read schematics; and train plant staff as a Subject Matter Expert. Associate degree in Automation/Electronics/Mechatronics with 5+ years in manufacturing is required.

Qualifications

  • Associates in Automation Technology / Electronics / Mechatronics; 5 years direct manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Analytical skills to identify reliability issues in complex systems.
  • Strong problem-solving capability to identify root causes and implement solutions.
  • Clear communication of technical information to diverse stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail for accuracy in maintenance and testing.
  • Experience with PLC/Bus systems troubleshooting; Beckhoff TwinCAT preferred.
  • Experience in high-volume automated manufacturing; preferred.
  • Knowledge of high-speed camera inspection systems; preferred.
  • Knowledge of high-speed labeling systems; preferred.
  • Excellent critical thinking and safety/quality orientation.
  • Adherence to Lock Out Tag Out procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain reliability & work planning metrics/KPIs to improve or sustain machine performance.
  • Provide technical support on equipment reliability initiatives and metrics.
  • Coordinate investigations of equipment-related performance incidents.
  • Diagnose and rectify maintenance issues; troubleshoot and resolve deficiencies with mechanical, pneumatic, sensors, control systems, and I/O devices.
  • Perform root cause analysis for machine performance issues.
  • Maintenance, cleaning, and repair tasks for dosage equipment.
  • Read electrical drawings and perform electrical/electronic/automation/mechanical troubleshooting.
  • Inventory control of spare parts; project development and scheduled maintenance execution.
  • Adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Equipment sequencing and effective troubleshooting.
  • Promote teamwork and maintain a positive work environment and relationships.
  • Promote a safe work environment using safety equipment and Lock Out Tag Out and other quality processes.
  • Coordinate with production for downtime/stoppages of assembly lines for repairs and maintenance.
  • Conduct training as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on core machine mechanical, pneumatic, automation, control systems, and operation functionality.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Your Profile
Job Requirements
  • Associates in Automation Technology / Electronics / Mechatronics plus 5 years direct manufacturing experience. Higher education or military experience may be considered.
  • Analytical skills: You must be able to analyze complex systems and data to identify potential reliability issues.
  • Problem-solving skills: identify root causes of problems and develop effective solutions.
  • Communication skills: You need to be able to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail: Being detail-oriented is crucial for identifying potential reliability issues and ensuring the accuracy of your work.
  • Experienced PLC/ Buss system troubleshooting knowledge. Beckoff Twincat preferred
  • Experience in high volume automated manufacturing, preferred.
  • Intermediate knowledge high speed camera inspection system, preferred
  • Intermediate knowledge high speed labeling systems, preferred.
  • Excellent critical thinking
  • Champion all aspects of safety & quality control.
  • Execution and adherance to Lock out Tag Out procedures
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to stand and walk for up to 12 hours
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Must have appropriate vision to read schematics and blue prints, additionally to perform detailed machine and quality inspections.
  • Must be able to perform duties in limited spaces.
