The role combines industrial automation and IT help desk work, with a 50/50 split between plant automation and user technology support. The Hybrid Automation & Field IT Technician plays a critical role in supporting the reliability, performance, and connectivity of Peckham’s quarry, hot mix asphalt, and precast operations. This position combines expertise in industrial automation and field IT, serving as a key resource for maintaining plant control systems, network infrastructure, and end-user technology across a diverse industrial environment. This position is structured as a 50/50 responsibility split between industrial automation support and IT help desk responsibilities. The technician will divide time between maintaining and improving plant automation systems and providing hands-on technology support for users, devices, and infrastructure across Peckham operations. The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical professional who thrives in both operational and IT settings. Responsibilities include supporting and troubleshooting SCADA and PLC systems, plant networks, industrial communication infrastructure, and user-facing technology to ensure safe, efficient, and uninterrupted operations. Success in this role requires strong problem-solving skills, adaptability, and the ability to work across multiple disciplines. The ideal candidate is comfortable moving between plant-floor automation challenges and end-user technology support, serving as a trusted technical partner across Peckham’s operations. Whether commissioning a variable frequency drive (VFD), optimizing automation systems, or resolving network and connectivity issues, this individual will help ensure reliable, efficient, and secure technology systems throughout Peckham’s plant network.

Position may require up to 80% travel by personal vehicle to offices within the state of New Hampshire and northern Vermont region.
This job operates in an office and field environments. This job will require going out in the field and various organizations to utilize and troubleshoot computer equipment. This would require the ability to sit at a desk, frequent walking, bending or standing as necessary.
