Job summary

Howmet Aerospace Inc. in Whitehall, MI is seeking an Automation Technician to oversee sustaining operation and repair of automated equipment. You will assist engineers to improve processes, cycle times, quality, OEE and labor utilization by automating processes.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 1 year in engineering/manufacturing, and legal ability to work in the United States. Preferred qualifications include an associate degree and hands-on automation experience.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Word and Excel proficiency preferred.
Associate degree in a technical discipline is preferred.
Experience evaluating automated equipment and processes and solving automated equipment issues is preferred.
Robotic programming skills to refine movement using various controllers are preferred.
Good oral and written communication skills are required.
Experience using industrial controllers is preferred.
Ability to read mechanical and electrical prints is preferred.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities are expected.
Must be organized and able to implement permanent solutions.
