Job summary

Howmet Aerospace is seeking an Automation Engineering Specialist for our Whitehall, MI facility. This role focuses on identifying and sustaining manufacturing automation, automating manual processes, and integrating equipment into production with PM support.

You will redesign robotic components to boost OEE and lead projects from concept through implementation. The candidate will collaborate with operators, vendors, and design teams, develop maintenance programs, and advance advanced

Qualifications

BS degree or 7+ years related experience.
Employee must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
3+ years’ experience working with controls/programming robotics.
Experience with Motoman robotics or other robot programming.
Experience in engineering or manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

Automate manual processes, collaborating with operators, vendors, and design teams.
Lead build phase and implement equipment into production with PMs to support.
Redesign or replace failing robotic components to increase OEE.
Develop and implement new advanced manufacturing equipment and automation.
Support capital funding requisitions and project performance metrics.
Mentor automation technicians and collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to improve processes.
Coordinate all robotic service visits and robot programming.
Develop troubleshooting guides for technicians.
