Job summary

Constellium is seeking an Automation Technician to provide plant-wide technical support for automation and data acquisition systems. The role includes after-hours support, assisting with project tasks, bug fixes, and improvements under senior guidance.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting PLCs, HMIs, drives, and networks; designing intuitive HMIs; and maintaining documentation and backups of PLCs and PCs. A ABET-accredited engineering degree is preferred.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline from ABET-accredited program.
Entry level to three years of experience preferred.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and drawings.
Proficiency in ladder logic, structured text, and function block diagrams.

Responsibilities

Provide technical support for control systems throughout the facility including after-hours support. Position is involved in projects, but day-to-day support is the key aspect.
Troubleshoot and debug existing controls packages for optimal performance. This includes troubleshooting of PLC's, HMI's, Drive’s, Ladder Logic, Industrial Networks, Data Systems, Cameras, NVR’s.
Apply basic engineering principles to assist in analyzing technical issues within our systems and proposing/implementing solutions.
Assist in the design and implementation of intuitive and user-friendly HMI's to interface with operators.
Create and maintain detailed documentation of controls programs, configurations, best practices, and changes.
Create and maintain backups of critical control PLC's, HMI's, and PCs.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring clear and effective communication.
