Job summary

Shiseido Americas, a subsidiary of Shiseido Company Limited, is seeking an Automation Technician to apply technical, mechanical and operational skills to deliver outstanding results on automated lines, while upholding safety, quality and efficiency.

You will run and troubleshoot robotics, conveyors and packaging equipment; perform setup, changeovers and minor repairs; monitor data, report downtime and parts completion; and collaborate in a GMP-driven, team-based environment.

Qualifications

  • Must communicate in English, verbally and in writing.
  • Basic math and mechanical skills are required.
  • Ability to read HMI faults and troubleshoot information.
  • Ability to understand and interpret equipment parameters.
  • Practical attitude and ability to learn new skills.

Responsibilities

  • Run automated production lines including robotics, HMIs, conveyors and packaging equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and correct system material flow issues and basic faults.
  • Set up and verify the functionality and safety of equipment.
  • Perform changeovers and adjustments without external mechanical support.
  • Measure, record and report data such as downtime and parts completion.
  • Maintain GMP and safety compliance and work well in a team.

JOB SUMMARY

The Automation Technician is responsible for providing technical, mechanical, and operational skills needed to deliver outstanding results in the key areas of the automatic lines, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
  • You will perform all duties in accordance with company and site-specific safety policies and procedures.
  • You will be responsible for running our automated production lines which include robotics, HMI screens, conveyors, automated packaging equipment, etc.
  • You will troubleshoot and correct system material flow issues.
  • You will troubleshoot basic mechanical, electrical, and computer systems issues and elevate as appropriate.
  • You will set up and verify the functionality and safety of equipment.
  • You will operate production lines and equipment, including safety startup, clearing jams, manual operations, and format changes.
  • You will perform troubleshooting and make necessary process adjustments to improve run time.
  • You will conduct changeovers and equipment adjustments without mechanical support.
  • You will achieve required efficiency and throughput on automated lines.
  • You will measure and record data associated with operating equipment.
  • You can run your own operation, responsibility for all reporting (parts completion reports, downtime reports, etc.).
  • You can work in a team environment.
  • You will support departmental and organizational goals and objectives.
  • You will follow all GMP and Safety requirements.
WHO YOU ARE
  • You have a high school diploma or equivalent technical training
  • You can communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • You have basic math skills
  • You have basic mechanical skills
  • You can understand and read HMI faults and troubleshoot information.
  • You can understand and integrate equipment parameters.
  • You have a practical attitude and ability to learn new skills.

The hourly rate for this position may vary based based on geographic location. Pay is based on several factors including knowledge, education, skills, and experience. In addition to base pay, we may offer additional forms of compensation as part of a total compensation package, including a discretionary annual bonus in addition to a full range of benefits.
