Job Title: Automation Technician

Job Summary: This position provides Automation-I&E support to South East New Mexico Oil and Gas Operations.

Job Responsibilities

1. Work as a team to maintain and install Automation-I&E equipment such as PLC components, wired and wireless transmitters, communications equipment, HMIs, etc.
2. Be safety conscious, team-oriented, a self-starter, and work well with minimal supervision.
3. Engage in and promote a strong safety culture.
4. Use SCADA systems to monitor operations.
5. Perform Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedures on required equipment.
6. Perform other operational duties as assigned.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Required

1. Ability to install, troubleshoot, and repair PLCs, ABB TotalFlow, Fisher ROC, transmitters, etc.
2. Ability to troubleshoot electrical circuits and components.
3. Knowledge of communication equipment such as Freewave, XetaWave, RedLion, ABB, Cambium, and fiber optic systems.
4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
5. Proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook, etc.
6. Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced facility personnel.
7. Understanding of oil and gas production equipment and operations.
8. Must be able to obtain certification to work at heights using appropriate fall protection.
9. Must be able to work in extreme outdoor temperatures.
10. Once adequately trained, contractors are expected to work on a call-out rotation, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
11. Willingness to work late as needed.
12. Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced Automation-I/E personnel.
