Job summary

TVH is seeking an Automation Technician to repair and maintain computer-controlled systems and robotic devices in the warehouse. You will work within the Automation Team to support daily operations and drive efficiency across TVH facilities.

The role requires hands-on experience with Siemens S7 (TIA) PLCs, HMIs, Profinet networking, and Allen-Bradley tools. A degree in Electrical/Controls/Automation or related field is preferred, with strong English communication skills.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in commissioning or maintaining industrial automation systems.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Undergraduate or Graduate Degree in Electrical / Controls / Automation / Robotics / Instrumentation Engineering/Technology
• Basic computer skills (Google Workspace)
• Excellent written and verbal English skills
• Proficient in Siemens S7 (TIA, Drives, Profinet, Profisafe)
• Working knowledge of Allen Bradley tools (Rs Logix 5/500/5000, Factory Talk View)
• Working knowledge of troubleshooting industrial networks.
• Working knowledge in drives (VFD/Servo)
• Reading electrical prints (US and European)

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot Siemens PLC (TIA Portal) and HMI (TIA Portal). Networking with Profinet.
• Troubleshoot hardwired systems and read prints (US/European).
• Support advancement of automated systems across site.
• Install, maintain and inspect workstation and control-system installations.
• Perform preventative maintenance on material handling and automation equipment.
• Emergency troubleshooting to diagnose machine issues.
• Adhere to safety policies and standards.
• Identify opportunities to increase automation efficiency.
• Be collaborative and build strong working relationships.
• Provide status updates and support to operations staff.
• Collaborate with team members and leadership on projects.

The Automation Technician will be responsible for repairing and maintaining the computer-controlled systems and robotic devices used within the warehouse to maximize efficiency. This position will work within the Automation Team and support the day to day operations of TVH.

YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Experience troubleshooting and modification of Siemens PLC (TIA portal), HMI (TIA Portal), and Drives (TIA Portal). Networking experience/Profinet.
• Experience troubleshooting hardwired systems and print reading (US and European style prints)
• Provide expertise to continue the advancement of automated systems throughout a site
• Install, maintain and inspect workstation and control-system installations throughout a facility
• Preventative maintenance on all material handling and automated equipment
• Undertake emergency troubleshooting to determine problems associated with the machines
• Adhere to company policy, and health and safety standards
• Identifying opportunities to increase efficiency with automation
• Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.
• Provide status updates, manage expectations and provide support to operations staff
• Work with team members, and leadership on assigned projects

HOW TO SUCCEED

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in commissioning or maintaining industrial automation systems
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Undergraduate or Graduate Degree in Electrical / Controls / Automation / Robotics / Instrumentation Engineering/Technology
• Basic computer skills (Google Workspace)
• Strong command of English Language both written and verbal a must
• Proficient in Siemens Simatic S7 (TIA, Drives, Profinet, Profisafe)
• Working knowledge of Allen Bradley tools (Rs Logix 5/500/5000, Factory Talk View)
• Working knowledge in troubleshooting industrial networks.
• Working knowledge in drives (VFD/Servo) issues
• Working knowledge in troubleshooting electrical circuits (24VDC to 480VAC)
