Adamas Energy is seeking an Automation Technician to join our team. You will repair, install, troubleshoot, and perform predictive and preventive maintenance on control systems, natural gas compression or pump stations, SCADA, and related equipment across our gas and liquid facilities and pipelines.

You will work outdoors, read engineering drawings and schematics, coordinate with contractors, and provide clear written reporting.

Qualifications

  • Education requirements include a high school diploma or GED and an associate’s degree in Instrumentation.
  • Minimum 5–10 years of relevant industry experience, depending on level.
  • Certifications related to software and system certifications required.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and operating systems.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee installation, diagnosis, safety controls, and maintenance of PLCs and well control systems.
  • Read manuals, policies, drawings, and schematics (electrical, pneumatic, and P&IDs).
  • Provide work direction and inspection of contractors' work.
  • Troubleshoot and configure control solutions using FactoryTalk, RSLogix, ControlLogix, RocLink.
  • Prepare accurate written and electronic reporting.

Job description

We are seeking a skilled Automation Technician to join our team. This position is responsible for repairing, installing, troubleshooting, and performing predictive and preventative maintenance tasks on control systems, natural gas compression or pump stations, SCADA, and other equipment within gas and liquid facilities and pipelines. Additionally, this role involves inspecting, troubleshooting, and maintaining process control systems such as PLCs, DCS, and similar equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Actively participate in safety programs, policies, procedures, and initiatives in partnership with HSE
  • Oversee installation, diagnosis, safety controls, and maintenance of PLCs and well control systems
  • Read and interpret manuals, policies, engineering standards, regulations, drawings, and schematics (electrical, pneumatic, and P&IDs)
  • Provide work direction, oversight, and inspection of work performed by contractors
  • Participate in on-call/call-out requirements
  • Maintain motor controls, relay logic, RTUs, and I&E associated end-devices
  • Use software to troubleshoot, design, or configure control solutions using Factory Talk, Allen Bradley RSLogix, Control Logix, and RocLink
  • Provide accurate written and electronic reporting

  • Ability to:
  • Work outdoors in variable environmental conditions around heavy equipment
  • Work periodic shift work and overtime
  • Work with a team, take directions from supervisors, and maintain required work schedules
  • Organize, plan, prioritize, document, and complete work independently
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
  • Ability to perform indoor/outdoor activities in changing weather conditions
  • Lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 50 pounds
  • May require bending, reaching, working at heights, and moving machinery
  • Ability to wear respirator protection and PPE as required
  • Subject to callouts for operational issues and emergencies after hours, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Working conditions may include confined spaces
Additional Requirements
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States
  • Valid driver's license with no restrictions prohibiting driving a company vehicle
  • Ability to meet company insurability requirements
  • Must pass company standard background check and comply with Drug & Alcohol Program and DOT requirements
