Job description

Per Se is currently seeking an Automation Technician for our client who services customers throughout North America. The right candidate will have strong communication skills and the mechanical and electrical knowledge necessary to repair, troubleshoot, modify, and test complex technical problems on industrial automation systems for our customers. These services are provided on-site at our customer’s facilities and via telephone if the situation permits.

Responsibilities
  • Assemble and connect all components to create one system.
  • Install wiring, make mechanical modifications, and troubleshoot problems.
  • Update software and program PC-based and PLC controls.
  • Operate and adjust systems before anchoring to the floor.
  • Instruct customers on operations and maintenance.
  • Connect and install safety fences, chains, switches, lights, sirens, and ensure operators understand them.
  • Prepare weekly expense reports and paperwork.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings and wiring diagrams.
  • Proficiency with basic hand tools.
  • Ability to operate Windows-based computers.
  • HVAC background (a plus).
  • 2-year Electronic or Technical Degree preferred.
