We are entering a growth phase, investing over $1 billion in a new state-of-the-art manufacturing site in Concord, North Carolina, focusing on parenteral medications, device assembly, and packaging. This is a unique opportunity to help build and operate a new facility using the latest high-tech equipment and automated systems, with a focus on environmental sustainability.

Responsibilities

The Automation Technician supports automated equipment performance, provides first-line support to production processes, and supports engineering initiatives, process improvements, and project implementation. The role involves developing expertise in production processes, commissioning, qualification, validation, and control systems. The technician ensures equipment is maintained in a qualified, safe, operational state, excluding performing maintenance activities.

Key Objectives/Deliverables

• Ensure operational and maintenance procedures prioritize safety.
• Perform activities adhering to cGMPs and procedures.
• Identify quality improvement opportunities via equipment data and maintenance practices.
• Communicate effectively across all levels to coordinate projects and repairs with minimal disruption.
• Collaborate with process teams, including engineers and operators, to develop equipment and maintenance practices.
• Seek opportunities to enhance equipment effectiveness and reliability.
• Support engineering in investigating issues, transferring knowledge, implementing tools, creating maintenance plans, reviewing equipment status, and executing small projects.

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma/GED
• At least 2 years of automation experience
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. (no sponsorship anticipated)
• Background check and drug screening clearance

Additional Preferences

• Safety-focused work ethic in participative environments
• Experience in GMP manufacturing, instrumentation, PLC/HMI programming, Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View SE
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel, technical documentation skills
• Ability to work independently, organize, and adapt quickly
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer service attitude
• Experience with highly automated equipment and B&R platform is a plus
• Knowledge of parenteral/packaging equipment and Maximo or similar systems

Compensation ranges from $21.27 to $46.88, depending on experience and location. Full-time employees are eligible for bonuses and comprehensive benefits, including 401(k), health insurance, paid leave, and wellness programs. Lilly reserves the right to modify these programs.
