Job summary

Airgas is hiring an Automation Technician in Anaheim, CA. The role involves servicing plasma and cutting systems, robots, and related automation equipment. You will install, maintain, troubleshoot on-site, and upgrade components while ensuring safety and documenting work clearly.

The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of welding, automation motion devices, and robotics software, with a willingness to train and collaborate with customers to resolve complex issues.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years Advanced Automation service experience or 2 years mechanical repair plus completion of Airgas Automation Technician Apprenticeship.
  • Broad knowledge of welding, cutting and fabrication processes used by Airgas customers.
  • Ability to read, write and interpret electrical schematics; knowledge of welding power equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform service on plasma, oxy/fuel cutting systems, and robots.
  • Install, perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot on-site and repair components.
  • Upgrade components while maintaining a safe working environment and following PPE rules.
  • Complete service documentation promptly and accurately.
  • Maintain a clean, safe workspace and report expenses timely.

This position is also responsible for installation, preventative maintenance, onsite troubleshooting and service, and component repair. Established track record or completion of the Airgas Apprenticeship program may possibly supersede educational requirementsMust have a broad knowledge of the welding, cutting and fabrication processes common to the Airgas customer base including but not limited to: Manual, semi-automated and automated welding processes.Ability to read, write and interpret electrical schematics. Knowledge of welding and power equipment from many different suppliers.Preferred Qualifications:High School Diploma with Associate Degree Industrial Electronics/Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Technical School preferred.Must be able to apply mathematical formulas that quantify the costs associated with the processes so analysis and comparisons may be created.Ability to be a team player with positive attitude towards other associates, customers and work environment.Must be self-motivated, success oriented, mechanically, technically and detail oriented.Ability to be flexible and able to “shift gears” in the face of interrupted schedules, canceled appointments and unfulfilled promises.Must be proficient with computer applications including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook.The hourly base pay range for this position in California is $38.00 /hr. - $44.00 /hr.
