Position Summary

The Automation Tech II works with minimal supervision to resolve electro-mechanical issues and equipment errors on automated material handling systems. Responsibilities include performing repairs, preventive maintenance, on-site setup, programming, and customer training.

Responsibilities

1. Use advanced troubleshooting skills to diagnose and repair mechanical problems.
2. Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using technical drawings.
3. Minimize downtime by performing preventative and predictive maintenance.
4. Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex equipment issues.
5. Mentor and train Automation Technician I colleagues.
6. Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs.
7. Update technical documentation and SOPs.
8. Collaborate with engineering teams on design changes and upgrades.
9. Document maintenance activities and repairs.
10. Follow OSHA and internal safety standards.

Minimum Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in the material handling industry or equivalent.
• Familiarity with material handling equipment, PLCs, and motor controls.
• Working knowledge of handheld and power tools.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and control defects.
• Ability to interpret mechanical and electrical schematics.
• Self-motivated, organized, and detail-oriented.
• Strong communication skills.
• Intermediate computer skills including MS Office.
• Support SOP creation and technical documentation.
• Ability to guide and teach Tech I colleagues.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with CMMS platforms.
• Ability to assist in installation and troubleshooting of material handling equipment.
