Job summary

Symbotic seeks a System Engineer in Bethlehem, PA to support the reliability and performance of its automated warehouse systems. This hands-on role emphasizes system health, troubleshooting, and on-site execution to ensure uptime.

You will monitor conveyors, lifts, motors, sensors, and PLCs, diagnose issues, and collaborate with maintenance teams to restore stability. Safety and OSHA compliance are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent hands-on experience in a relevant field.
• 1 year of hands-on PLC diagnostics, preferably Allen-Bradley.
• 1 year diagnosing VFD drive issues.
• 1 year experience with AC and DC motors.
• Hands-on work with conveyors, lifts and automated systems.
• Experience with SQL, Python, Linux for diagnostics.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain health of conveyors, lifts, robotics, motors, sensors and PLC equipment.
• Perform advanced electrical, mechanical and automation troubleshooting.
• Diagnose failures across PLCs, VFDs, motors, sensors and control hardware.
• Support preventive and corrective maintenance on automated equipment.
• Use data, alarms and logs to identify faults and recurring issues.
• Document maintenance and repairs in CMMS (e.g., Maximo).
• Act as senior escalation point during system disruptions.
• Collaborate with on-site teams to restore system performance.
• Provide guidance to maintenance technicians and operators.
