Job summary

Symbotic is seeking a System Engineer to support the reliability and performance of automated warehouse systems in a live production environment. This hands-on role emphasizes system health, equipment reliability, and technical execution on site.

The role aligns with Maintenance Engineer or Lead Automation Technician profiles, focusing on troubleshooting and stabilization rather than programming or commissioning. Strong PLC/VFD/motor experience is expected.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or hands-on equivalent in EE/CS/Automation.
1+ year hands-on PLC diagnostics and troubleshooting (Allen-Bradley preferred).
1+ year experience with VFDs, including diagnosing speed, torque, and drive issues.
Hands-on experience with automated systems such as conveyors and robotics.

Responsibilities

Monitor and maintain health of automated systems (conveyors, lifts, robotic vehicles, motors, sensors, PLC equipment).
Perform electrical, mechanical, and automation troubleshooting to resolve production issues.
Diagnose failures across PLCs, VFDs, motors, sensors, and control hardware.
Support preventive and corrective maintenance on automated equipment.
Use system data and logs to identify fault conditions and recurring issues.
Document maintenance activities in CMMS (Maximo) and internal tools.
Act as senior escalation point during disruptions or downtime.
Collaborate with on-site teams to restore system performance.
Provide guidance to technicians and operators on-site.
