Job summary

Symbotic is seeking a System Engineer to join our Site Operations team. You will support the reliability, availability, performance, and health of automated warehouse systems in live production environments at customer sites.

Working alongside maintenance and operations, you will monitor systems, troubleshoot PLCs, motors, sensors, and control hardware, and perform preventive and corrective maintenance to maximize uptime and safety.

Qualifications

Hands-on experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment, preferably Allen‑Bradley platforms.
Experience diagnosing and supporting VFDs, AC/DC motors, servo motors, sensors, and automated material handling equipment.
Working knowledge of SQL, Python, and Linux for diagnostics, log review, and system interaction.
Experience maintaining automated systems such as conveyors, vertical lifts, AS/RS equipment, robotics, or other electro‑mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

Monitor and maintain the health and performance of automated warehouse systems, including conveyors, lifts, robotic vehicles, motors, sensors, and PLC-controlled equipment.
Perform advanced electrical, mechanical, and automation troubleshooting to resolve equipment and production-impacting issues.
Diagnose failures involving PLCs, VFDs, AC/DC motors, servo motors, sensors, and control hardware.
Execute preventive and corrective maintenance activities to improve system reliability and uptime.
Utilize system alarms, logs, dashboards, and data analysis tools to identify root causes and recurring issues.
Serve as a technical escalation point during system disruptions and collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to restore performance.
Ensure compliance with OSHA, LOTO, electrical safety, and Symbotic safety standards while supporting critical on-site operational needs.
