Job summary

Raytheon in Forest, Mississippi, is seeking an automation engineer to join our manufacturing automation team onsite. You will learn from experienced engineers while supporting development, maintenance, and troubleshooting of digital manufacturing solutions.

Responsibilities include full project lifecycles, documenting systems, and aiding commissioning. Candidates should have a STEM degree and at least two years relevant experience, plus the ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in STEM and at least 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with electrical, mechanical, or pneumatic systems and ability to read drawings and schematics.
  • Experience learning new technologies in a hands-on manufacturing environment.

What You Will Do

Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires a Bachelors degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
  • Experience with electrical, mechanical, or pneumatic systems and reading technical drawings and schematics
  • Experience learning new technologies in a hands‑on manufacturing environment
Qualifications We Prefer
  • Exposure to Ignition, SCADA, or HMI development
  • Exposure to Cognex and/or Keyence vision systems
  • Familiarity with Python or other scripting languages
  • Interest in data analysis, digital manufacturing, or Industry 4.0 concepts
  • Experience with control systems design (AutoCAD preferred)
  • Knowledge of safety fundamentals (OSHA, NFPA, or machine safety concepts)
  • Strong communication skills and a desire to grow within an automation engineering career path
  • Active DOD Secret Clearance

The salary range for this role is 62,000 USD - 118,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective‑bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective‑bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
