Job summary
Merck & Co., Inc. in West Point, PA is seeking an Associate Specialist in Engineering Automation to support manufacturing automation in barrier formulation and filling operations.
The role involves troubleshooting, maintaining GMP-compliant systems, and supporting production teams with automation needs in a hybrid work setting. The position offers exposure to PLCs, SCADA, DCS, MES, and IT components across diverse automated processes, with emphasis on quality, safety, and continuous improvement
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, IT or related discipline preferred.
- Strong knowledge of automation systems and manufacturing IT concepts essential.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot automation equipment to improve manufacturing performance.
- Maintain automation systems in compliance with GMP.
- Support production teams with automation requirements and technical assistance.
- Review automation documents, preventive maintenance, and SOPs for GMP and safety compliance.
- Develop corrective actions for investigations related to automation or IT systems.
- Participate in audits, training, change controls, and on-floor sponsorship of manufacturing activities.
