Job summary

Commercial Metals seeks a Level II Process Automation professional in South Carolina to support automation hardware and software across plants. You will work with PLCs, HMIs, SCADA and related process equipment, contributing to efficiency and reliability in manufacturing operations.

The role requires a solid foundation in electrical engineering and practical experience with industrial automation, plus the ability to collaborate with multiple teams.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in Level II Process Automation or similar
• 2-year degree or equivalent military technical training plus 4 years Level II experience
• Steel industry experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Proficient in database management and programming.
• Assist in maintaining Variable Frequency Drives, PLCs, instrumentation, process computers, and related equipment.
• Program SQL and Crystal Reports; Siemens 7 PLC and Intouch-Wonderware.
• Maintain and modify GUI programs (HMI).
• Understand Level II interfaces with Level 1 PLC systems, HMIs, SAP."
• Seek new automation solutions to improve consistency and efficiency.
• Communicate effectively with other departments and users.
• Have general knowledge of steel mill processes.

What You'll Do

• Proficient in database management and programming

What You'll Need

• Minimum 2 years of Level II Process Automation experience
• 2-year degree or extensive military training in a related technical discipline and 4-years of Level II Process Automation experience
• Steel industry experience is preferred

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline
