Job summary

Lam Research in Fremont seeks a Software Engineer within the Product Support group to bridge field issues with engineering, validate software readiness, and support new product introductions across Lam's portfolio. You will troubleshoot, test, and collaborate across teams to ensure customer-ready software and robust diagnostics.

You will design automation components using C#, .NET, and web technologies, implement SECS/GEM interfaces, and contribute to tool connectivity and data acquisition

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electronics, Computer Science, or related field with 5+ years experience or equivalent hands-on automation experience.
• Direct experience implementing SECS/GEM-based equipment integration in R&D or manufacturing environments; proficiency with C#, .NET, and modern web technologies for automation and tool connectivity.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals including OOP, design patterns, data structures, and real-time communication handling.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, troubleshoot, and debug automation software modules for tool bring-up and R&D diagnostics.
• Implement SECS/GEM interfaces and IoT connectivity layers for prototype equipment.
• Collaborate with R&D engineers and software architects to develop new automation capabilities and documentation packages.
