Job summary

Newcomb and Company is a full-service mechanical contractor serving commercial, residential, and industrial sectors with heating, cooling, automation, and controls services. The Field Service Technician will diagnose and repair DDC systems, calibrate sensors, download controllers, and maintain building automation equipment while delivering safe, efficient performance and strong customer communication.

  • Calibrate sensors and verify proper operation of controls.
  • Manage downloading and programming of controllers.
  • Maintain clear communication with customers and internal teams.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair DDC systems & components including terminal, unitary and plant controllers.
  • Verify equipment sequence and troubleshoot integration issues for full functionality.
  • Modify building and control level programming as needed.
  • Perform control maintenance tasks and maintain tools.
  • Record time accurately and be available for after-hours service calls.

Job Summary

Providecontrol servicediagnostics, repairs & preventative maintenance tasksinsafeand efficient manner.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Primary duties:

  • Diagnose and repair DDC systems & components including terminal, unitary and plant controllers including, but not limited to:
  • Verification of properbus operation
  • Conducting point topoint check
  • Calibrate sensors
  • Downloading controllers
  • Verify equipment sequence
  • Diagnose and repair integration issues to allow for a fully functioning system
  • Understand andmodifybuilding and control level programming
  • Preform control maintenance tasks
  • Maintain excellent communication between the automation department and its customers

Administrative duties:

  • Arrive at the assigned location at the assignedtime
  • Complete all necessary paperwork for processingin a timely manner
  • Service & maintenance forms
  • Safety material
  • Maintain technical knowledge &participatein training when necessary
  • Maintainall company supplied tools and resources
  • Accurately record time
  • Be available after normal working hours when needed
  • Participate in rotating after hours service calls
  • Maintain assigned company vehicle
Physical Demands
  • Adhere to safety standards
  • Strong computer skills with working knowledge of building automation systems (Tridium, Honeywell, Johnson FX,Traneand Carrier preferred)
  • Understanding of HVAC standards and practices consistent with industry requirements
  • Good working knowledge of the design, operation & maintenance of a wide range of commercial HVAC equipment & controls
  • 5 years industry experience preferred
  • Clean driving record
