Job Title: Automation & Regression Lab Engineer – Silicon One

Location: Onsite – RTP or Austin

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Lab Engineer to support the setup, maintenance, and enhancement of a centralized automation and regression lab for the Silicon One software stack. This role will be critical in enabling continuous development, validation, and secure release cycles across platform, protocol, and hardware testing. The engineer will collaborate closely with networking engineers, automation developers, and DevOps professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions) for build, integration, and test automation.
Develop Python-based automation and test scripts for networking features and CVE validation.
Execute daily and nightly regression test runs for Layer 2/3 networking features and SONiC protocol stacks.
Perform CVE patch validation using meta-regression and PL vision across hardware and emulated platforms.
Enable seamless testing of the Silicon One SDK and platform features in both Cisco and Google cloud ecosystems.
Monitor lab performance and stability using tools like Grafana and Prometheus.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams for test coverage, defect triage, and continuous improvement.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Python – Strong experience in automation and scripting
CI/CD Pipelines – Hands-on with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and pipeline orchestration
Networking Protocols – Solid understanding of Layer 2/3, SONiC stack, routing/switching concepts
Silicon One Experience – Familiarity with Cisco SDKs, platform integration, or related ASIC platforms
Regression & CVE Testing – Exposure to meta-regression tools, PL vision, patch testing
Build & Integration – Experience with SPY, PATCS, or equivalent build systems
DevOps Tools – Proficiency in Git, Docker, observability (Grafana/Prometheus)

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working in enterprise networking labs or testbed environments
Familiarity with Google’s SONiC validation or large-scale networking test platforms
Exposure to hardware-software integration testing for network devices

Seniority level
