Overview
QA Automation Engineer. Hybrid work arrangement in Hartford, CT. U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency may be required for eligibility per administrative considerations.
Responsibilities
- Follow the core technology and architecture for automated testing of large-scale distributed systems, midrange to client server and n-tier e-commerce applications and solutions.
- Automate testing according to specifications; work on all test automation components of the solution and create/maintain required technical documentation.
- Follow developed strategies for end-to-end system testing.
- Assist in testing processes involving migration and integration of new and legacy technologies.
- Collaborate with users, sponsors, and stakeholders to determine evolving needs; interface with the user(s) and sponsor(s).
- Review system requirements, test scripts, and test scenarios to create appropriate testing workflows; ensure high-level requirements are consistent, complete, correct, and operationally defined.
- Review software components and collaborate with development, Product Owners, System Teams, and Operations to ensure best testing strategies, practices, and techniques for automated testing.
- Coordinate with design and implementation teams to resolve QA issues in line with design concepts and user needs.
- Contribute to acceptance test requirements with project teams and users to verify all high-level requirements are met, especially for the computer-human interface.
- Maintain testing libraries and artifacts in current state and prevent obsolescence.
- Create automated test case scenarios for the Agile Delivery Team to meet Acceptance Criteria.
Required Skills and Experience
- 5+ years of experience in automated testing with UFT (Unified Functional Testing) and VBScript or other programming languages; required.
- 5+ years of experience with automated testing frameworks, manual testing, test methodologies, test strategies, and test beds; required.
- 5+ years of experience with Agile methodologies.
- Develop and maintain UI, back-end, API, and hardware test automation.
- Involved in a minimum of two large-scale Agile software development projects.
- Knowledge of testing tools, testing frameworks, and CI methodologies.
- Knowledge of web application testing, distributed system testing, performance testing, regression testing, database testing, mobile testing, security testing, accessibility testing, and web service testing.
- Knowledge of .NET, SharePoint, Salesforce.
- Knowledge of data modeling and database design (preferred).
- Knowledge of application modeling and design, and service-oriented architectures.
- Experience with automated testing in enterprise system integration projects and enterprise integration patterns.
- Understanding of QA best practices in Agile, including authoring test plans, test cases, and tracking issues to closure.
- Understanding of DevOps and setting up CI environments.
- Experience in Test-Driven Development and related tools and techniques.
- Object-oriented design principles and design patterns.
Additional Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with QA functional test suites such as Unified Functional Testing.
- Testing experience with Web Services (REST, SOAP, WCF) and tools like SOAPUI.
- BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technology degree, or commensurate experience.
- Experience with Salesforce, Microsoft SharePoint, .NET Framework, virtualization hosting environments, Mulesoft.
- Knowledge of SQL.
Administrative Considerations
Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
Work Schedule
Full-Time 40 hours per week — Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
