Job summary

Hunter Douglas is seeking an Automation Engineer to design, develop, and implement automated systems across North American plants. You will collaborate with Engineering, Operations, and IT to identify opportunities, define requirements, and ensure seamless integration of equipment and controls into new processes or production lines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field is required.
• 3+ years of experience as a Controls/Automation Engineer in manufacturing.
• Strong PLC programming expertise across major vendors (Allen Bradley, Beckhoff, Omron, Siemens).

Responsibilities

• Lead automation and controls scope for new equipment and lines.
• Design, program, and deploy PLCs, HMIs, robotics, and vision systems.
• Define scope, specs, budgets, timelines, and resource plans.
• Manage multiple projects and ensure on-time delivery.
