Job summary

Calqulate Metrics Ltd is seeking a Project Engineering Manager in Cumming, GA. You will collaborate with business partners and cross-functional teams to translate automation needs into actionable solutions and lead complex projects from concept to completion.

The role requires strong project management, design, and cost-estimation skills, with travel up to 50% of the time. Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office is expected, along with relevant experience in food processing/meat industry

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Engineering or related field; 5+ years of relevant experience.
2+ years’ leadership experience including team development and management.
Ability to apply sound engineering principles to operational and design issues.
Knowledge of installation and construction project scheduling.
Proficient in project management and contract administration; familiarity with national codes and standards.
Proficient in engineering economics.
Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office tools.
Willingness to travel 50% of the time.
Experience in food processing/meat industry engineering principles.

Responsibilities

Develop preliminary designs and specifications for engineering and materials, and prepare project cost estimates.
Conduct feasibility and economic studies to ensure viable, cost-effective designs.
Determine design criteria, validate field work, and produce as-built drawings.
Review projects for accuracy and manage execution with vendors/contractors.
Coordinate schedules with plant personnel, vendors, and contractors for plan implementation.
Direct equipment vendors on layouts, utilities, and installation schedules.
Review consultant work and recommend necessary adjustments.
Maintain comprehensive project documentation and vendor contacts.
Lead pre-project reviews to assess feasibility and alignment with goals.
Define scope, issue RFPs, and evaluate proposals to select best approach.
Provide detailed management reports on progress and milestones.
Contract administration: review bid packages for compliance.
Prepare budgets, calculations, plans, and schedules to guide execution.
Monitor installations to meet proposals and budgets, manage budget activities.
