Job summary

AAK Louisville is seeking an Automation Project Engineer to lead automation initiatives at the Louisville site. You will oversee scope, design, installation, startup, and commissioning of control systems, PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, and related equipment to meet production goals.

Knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, sensors, instrumentation, drives, robotics, and industrial networks.
Strong collaboration with production, maintenance, engineering, quality, safety, IT/OT, and external vendors.

Responsibilities

Lead assigned automation projects from scope development through design, installation, startup, commissioning, and closeout.
Develop project requirements, specifications, schedules, budgets, and implementation plans.
Design, program, configure, and support automation and control systems (PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, sensors, instrumentation, drives, robotics, networks).
Troubleshoot automation equipment and control logic to minimize downtime and improve performance.
Prepare and maintain technical documentation and training materials.
Support factory acceptance testing, site acceptance testing, startup, validation and handoff activities.
Ensure compliance with safety standards, policies, regulatory requirements, and cybersecurity expectations.
