Job summary

HBD Industries is seeking an Automation Project Engineer to implement automation projects across multiple manufacturing sites in the United States, with up to two weeks of travel per month. The role acts as the primary automation engineer in sites with limited engineering resources and collaborates with an Automation Project Manager to deliver projects on time and within scope.

The base salary range is $120,000 - $140,000, with visa sponsorship not available.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, mechatronics, manufacturing, robotics, or a related technical field.
Three years of experience implementing industrial automation and robotics solutions.
Demonstrated experience with robotic system programming and commissioning.
Experience integrating automation systems into manufacturing environments.
Experience troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, controls, and robotic systems.
Experience leading technical execution of capital projects.

Responsibilities

Feasibility studies including technical, operational, safety, quality, and financial evaluations.
Define system requirements, functional specifications, and performance criteria.
Lead acquisition and installation of automation equipment from concept through production.
Manage equipment suppliers, system integrators, contractors, and consultants.
Perform robot programming, path optimization, and process configuration.
Support PLC integration, I/O validation, HMI configuration, and controls troubleshooting.
Provide hands-on support at the factory during installation and startup.
Lead FAT and SAT and ensure successful startup and throughput.
Diagnose and resolve robotic, electrical, mechanical, and controls issues.
