Job summary

Marathon Petroleum Corporation in Carthage, TX seeks a Process Controls Engineer/Analyst to support control systems across gas gathering, compression, processing and pipelines in East Texas. You will program PLCs (Allen Bradley/Emerson), develop Wonderware HMI graphics, and maintain SCADA data for safe, efficient operations.

The role requires 7+ years of experience, an engineering mindset, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure MPLX standards and best practices are followed.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or vocational qualification required; Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred.
• Seven years of related experience required.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• Pre-employment background check and drug test required.

Responsibilities

• Program PLCs (Allen Bradley/Emerson) to automate processes and ensure safety and efficiency.
• Develop HMI graphics to accurately depict controlled processes and improve operability.
• Maintain SCADA systems for data collection and display from field devices.
• Support a wide range of assets including gas gathering, compression, pipelines, and processing facilities.
• Identify opportunities for control system enhancements and optimization.
• Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, and Environmental teams to ensure safe, compliant operations.
