Job summary

IFF in Beloit, Wisconsin seeks an Automation and Process Control Engineer to design, implement and optimize DCS/PLC control systems for safe and efficient manufacturing. You will develop control strategies, support site automation, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive improvements across processes and equipment.

You will troubleshoot systems, participate in investigations, and provide on-site technical support as needed.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related engineering discipline.
3-5 years of experience in process control, automation, or manufacturing systems.
Experience reading P&ID diagrams and control drawings.
Knowledge of Process Safety Management programs is a plus.

Responsibilities

Design, configure, test, and commission process control systems (DCS, PLC) for safe, efficient operations.
Develop and optimize control strategies (including PID loops) to improve stability and performance.
Support site automation, instrumentation, and control tech across processes.
Lead automation projects, including upgrades, commissioning, startup activities and lifecycle management.
Collaborate with manufacturing, operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to implement improvements.
Maintain HMIs and visualization tools to enhance operator effectiveness.
Troubleshoot control systems and networks; participate in root cause investigations and corrective actions.
Provide occasional off-hours support for critical automation issues.
