Job summary
Corning in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Lead - Automation and Equipment to drive design, build and deployment of advanced manufacturing automation equipment. This senior, hands-on role leads cross-functional teams and partners with external vendors to deliver reliable automation solutions.
The ideal candidate has 8+ years in automation or mechanical engineering, CAD with SolidWorks or Inventor, and experience with servo motors, sensors, and robotics.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or related field.
- 8+ years in automation/mechanical/manufacturing equipment engineering.
- Experience leading small technical or cross-functional teams.
- Experience with external vendors on equipment design and delivery.
- CAD design experience with SolidWorks or Inventor.
- Exposure to servo motors, sensors, robotics and automation components.
Responsibilities
- Lead multidisciplinary project teams to deliver automation equipment from concept to implementation.
- Collaborate with external vendors to define requirements and resolve issues.
- Design and integrate precision automation equipment using CAD and motion systems.
- Troubleshoot performance to meet manufacturing, safety and precision goals.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical direction.
