Job summary

KUKA is seeking an automation professional to program, start-up and debug automation equipment at KUKA and on customer sites. This role requires deep knowledge of ladder logic, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic circuits, and a solid understanding of mechanical sequencing of machinery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent
• 2–4 years of related experience or training
• Deep knowledge of ladder logic and electrical/pneumatic/hydraulic circuitry

Responsibilities

• Interpret mechanical sequence and controls drawings and write ladder logic to specifications.
• Verify machine builds match drawings and ensure peripheral equipment is in place and safe to operate.
• Verify safeties are in place and operational; ensure correct wiring of interfaces to peripheral equipment.
• Collaborate with electricians, pipe fitters and builders to check hardware and wiring.
• Load ladder logic and configure PLC hardware; debug to match sequences.
• Work with robot programmers to establish PLC–robot interface and ensure cycle time targets.
