Job summary

Autoliv in Utah is seeking an Automation and PLC Engineer (Controls) to join our team as we design, develop and test equipment for automotive safety systems such as seatbelts, airbags and steering wheels. You will create PLC and HMI programs, develop hardware designs, troubleshoot control problems and collaborate with the team to deliver robust control solutions.

A successful candidate has experience with RSLogix 5000, Studio 5000, RS View Studio, Fanuc robots and reading electrical/controls

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, electrical engineering or senior status in college.
Background in control networks, including Ethernet/IP.
Familiarity with plant manufacturing including electrical/controls technology in a production and processing environment, RS232 and RS485 protocol, vision and barcode scanning systems.
Experience in Automation Controls Programming with PLC Ladder Logic and HMI.

Responsibilities

Analyze, research, design, develop and test our equipment, materials and processes.
Devise modeling and measuring techniques, troubleshoot machine control problems and facilitate software and process design that satisfies customer needs.
Create PLC and HMI programs, create hardware designs and modifications.
