Job summary

McCormick & Company, Incorporated in South Bend, IN is seeking a PLC and Electrical Maintenance Technologist to troubleshoot power distribution, motor starters, and PLC/solid-state controls. You will diagnose PLC/HMI issues and support EtherNet/IP, DeviceNet, and DH+ networks while servicing field devices and recording precise test results.

You will perform preventive maintenance, mentor teammates, and coordinate with contractors as needed to keep world-class operations running smoothly.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of hands-on plant maintenance experience.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and troubleshoot PLC/solid-state control systems.
• Comfort with test gear (multimeters) and standard troubleshooting methods.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair power distribution, motor starters, and high/low voltage circuits.
• Diagnose PLC logic and HMI issues; support controls on EtherNet/IP, DeviceNet, and DH+ networks.
• Service and calibrate field devices: photo eyes, proximity switches, encoders, limit switches, and more.
• Apply multimeters and other standard electrical test equipment to execute and record equipment tests.
• Revise and clarify test procedures; mentor teammates on proper execution.
• Perform preventive and general maintenance on production and facilities equipment.
• Complete work orders with precise documentation and test records.
• Join cross-functional problem-solving to drive continuous improvement.
